Let me say something that might make some candidates uncomfortable. I can tell almost immediately if AI wrote your resume. And I am not the only one.
Here Is What Gives It Away
Every bullet point is perfectly structured. The language is polished but generic. The skills section mirrors the job description almost word for word. When I read it I feel like I am reading a template not a person.
There is no personality. No specificity. No sense of what you actually did. Just clean optimized language designed to pass a screen rather than tell a real story.
A genuine resume has texture. It tells me what you actually built, what problems you actually solved, what impact you had on the business, and how you think. That is what I am looking for. And that is exactly what AI cannot fake once I pick up the phone.
The Bigger Problem
When every resume looks perfect nobody stands out. The playing field does not level. It just gets noisier. The candidates who are genuinely strong, the ones with real depth and real experience, get buried under a flood of AI polished profiles that all say the same thing.
I see this every single day. Resumes that look like a ten out of ten on paper. Candidates who struggle to speak to their own experience the moment we get on a call. The disconnect is jarring.
Why the Resume Is No Longer Enough
This is exactly why at SUD we go beyond the resume. Every candidate we submit has been through a real conversation. We dig into what they actually built, the problems they solved, and how they operate day to day. We find out how they engage with business stakeholders and whether they can take data and turn it into real decisions. We evaluate technical depth. And we assess cultural fit so the person we send you is not just qualified on paper but someone your team can actually work with and vibe with.
The resume gets you in the room. The conversation is what gets you the job.
