Background: One of the nation’s largest Healthcare systems seeks a Head of Data Science to build out its Data Science practice. Head of Data Science will set the vision for the group and continually work across the vast Enterprise to identify areas of opportunities where machine learning and advanced analytics can be utilized to solve business challenges.
What Will You Do:
- set the vision and charter for the Data Science team, champion Data Science value add to the Enterprise, “sell” the Data Science teams’ robust capabilities across the Enterprise, & provide a consultative approach where analytics is utilized to evolve strategic decisioning
- liaison with strategic partners across the Enterprise to understand area of opportunities where machine learning, NLP, and deep learning can best be utilized
- build applied use cases that will add most value to the Enterprise including: improving patient care, detecting patient fraud, gaining supply chain efficiencies, marketing optimization, and improving HR churn
- proactively build plan of actions and project scopes & own the design, development, and delivery of AI solutions across the Enterprise
- hire, train, mentor, and lead a team of highly distinguished Data Scientists to deploy leading machine learning, NLP, deep learning to solve critical questions/challenges
- proactively build out AI capabilities outside of ML i.e. leverage NLP to decode unstructured health text documents to extract critical information for analysis as well as using deep learning including image and vision detection to enable Radiologists make precision diagnosis
- proactively monitor the latest AI trends that can benefit the organization

Responsibilities/Experience:
- Masters / PhD in a quantitative and technical discipline
- Management experience, strong consultative executive presence is a MUST where analytics is utilized to evolve strategic decisioning
- Prior hands-on deployment of machine learning is a MUST
- Must have 10+ years of applied advanced analytics solving critical business questions (machine learning, NLP, deep learning)
- Must be polished as you will have constant interaction with senior executives
