Background: One of the nation’s largest Healthcare systems seeks a VP of Enterprise Data Engineering & Platform. VP will champion best practices within data ingestion and its Azure cloud environment. Additionally, the VP will define and execute the next generation of data management strategies including platform innovation to meet the growing data needs of clinical and non-clinical stakeholders across the Healthcare system.
What Will You Do:
- own the Enterprise cloud data platform including the data lake & data warehouse; lead a large team of: Data Engineers, Architects, Infrastructure, Administrators, DevOps professionals
- optimize the functionality of the cloud data platform by championing best practices on: data ingestion (ETL/ELT), data modeling, cloud infrastructure, standardize production platforms, introduce automation tools including API development / integrations, reduce complexity, scalability as data assets grow, bring in innovative solutions that provide new capabilities
- conceptualize use cases on how vast amount of data within the platform can effectively be used by clinical and non-clinical stakeholders including Clinical, Claims, Population Health, Revenue Cycle, Supply Chain, Marketing, Compliance, HR
- cultivate cross-functional relationships across the Enterprise to understand their growing data needs and develop roadmaps that deliver high quality solutions through the implementation of well-designed systems
- collaborate with Data Science, Analytics, BI teams to productionalize machine learning algorithms and build SaaS based dashboards that are easily utilized by non technical stakeholders across the Healthcare system
- set the strategic vision for the next generation of data management strategies that will serve the future needs of the Healthcare System as its data grows
- perform critical strategic thinking around platform innovation; proactively come up with a game plan and cost parameters, and successfully implement these innovative strategies
- implement data governance best practices including data quality, data security, maintain data dictionaries / catalogs
- manage a large number of vendor relationships and manage their finances with regards to utilization and costs

Responsibilities/Experience:
- must have Executive presence and senior polish
- must have 10+ years of experience in leadership roles owning data management including the Enterprise data warehouse
- must have 10+ years of experience in a leadership capacity supporting Enterprise cloud data platforms including Data Engineering and Infrastructure teams
- demonstrated ability to define and implement innovative data management strategies and managing its finances is a MUST
- proven experience on platform innovation strategies and execution
- 3+ years of Azure cloud experience is a MUST
- healthcare experience is a MUST preferably with Providers
- prior experience supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Analytics, Business Intelligence (BI) teams is a MUST
