Background: Large Retailer within the niche Grocery space seeks a Manager of Category Analytics. The Manager of Category Analytics will champion the use of advanced analytic techniques to answer a broad range of category planning and merchandising questions, informing both strategy and tactical execution.

 

What Will You Do:

  • Lead the analysis of loyalty and transactional data in order to provide category specific insights and recommendations
  • Develop and present fact-based business analytics for assigned categories including merchandising and space planning recommendations, promotion evaluation for effectiveness and efficiency and brand/category trends
  • Create analytical tools and dashboards for category managers to leverage and make decisions relating to in-store merchandising, pricing, promotion and product assortment
  • Outline best practices in terms of how analytics can provide strategic value in informing merchandising and category planning decisions
  • Analyze data to inform innovative product solutions that meet the needs of customers and work directly with CPG manufacturers to develop those products

Responsibilities/Experience:

  • 6+ years of analytical experience leveraging data to provide insights and strategic recommendations
  • Analytics experience within Grocery or CPG is a MUST (i.e. category management, merchandising and space planning)
  • Proficiency in SQL and leading BI tools is a PLUS (Tableau, Power BI)
  • Marketing analytics is a NICE to have (a/b testing, segmentation, reporting, campaign analytics, predictive modeling, customer journey)
