Background: One of the nation’s largest health care systems is in the process of a generational data transformation and seeks a Director of Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure reporting directly into their Chief Data Officer.

 

What Will You Do:

  • define, build, champion, and implement a best in class cloud data platform within Azure to support Data Science / Analytics uses cases
  • end-to-end ownership of analytics cloud platform within Azure i.e. recommend optimal compute and storage solutions to execute Analytics uses cases, optimize platform performance and scalability, and deploy cloud orchestration solutions
  • strong with data management and data modeling concepts
  • understand and monitor the regulatory and security requirements for the overall cloud data platform i.e. ISO, CSA-CSM, and NIST
  • hire and manage a team of cloud data platform analysts, engineers, and architects
  • keep current with trends within emerging analytics cloud technologies space

  • this is a highly visible senior, strategic, and leadership role reporting into the Chief Data Officer
  • preference to fill this role in Ohio HOWEVER can be done remote

 

Responsibilities/Experience:

  • 10+ years of experiences within “big data” as senior Data Engineers or Data Architects i.e. guiding and building cloud infrastructure, working with large scale distributed systems principles, cloud native platforms, CI/CD principles, data ingestion strategies, big data systems configuration and management
  • 5+ years of experience utilizing leading cloud computing services i.e. Azure, AWS, GCP
  • 2+ years of excellent understanding of the Azure environment to support Data Science and Analytics uses cases
  • strong knowledge of Azure infrastructure and its services (compute, storage, security, orchestration, containerization, i.e. Blob Storage, Data Lake Gen2, Kubernetes, Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, etc.)
  • great technical, presentation, and communication skills
